Obesity: A Serious Case (Anti-Thesis)

Chocolates, ice Cream, chips, soda and cakes are just some of the food almost everyone can't resist. Eating like there's no tomorrow gives happiness to others. But this kind of happiness may lead to something serious. Something that might affect one's health. There may be different causes of death or diseases, but this one seems to be epidemic and hard to resolve.

As I ran through the articles about obesity, I saw an article entitled Satcher: Obesity almost as bad as smoking by a CNN Medical Correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta. Obesity can now be considered a serious case because there is an increase in people who was engaged in it especially in USA. It is comparable to smoking since it also result to a different kinds of diseases and death. More than 61 percent of adults and 14 percent of adolescents are victims of obesity and 300,000 people die each year because of health issues regarding obesity. Hence, there is a need for an action to this serious matter.

There are some organizations who are willing to give something that can build facilities and programs that can actually help people live a healthy lifestyle. There are some organizations who are willing to give something that can build facilities and programs that can actually help people live a healthy lifestyle.

Surgeon General David Satcher said "Obesity is not just something that affects the individual, it costs the United States $117 billion per year."These two things may seem to be not related to each other but actually, they are. The actions needed like creating programs to be implemented is to treat obesity, change obese people's eating habit, help some people to eat in a healthy lifestyle and to lessen the cases of obesity.

This should be a wake up call to everyone especially for people who don't eat in a balanced diet. It is good to know that there are still people who are concerned and willing to help resolving social issues.
